Information is requested respecting John Connor, a native of Chatham, England, but was brought up at Panmure, near Auckland, a fellmonger, thirty-six years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, dark complexion. He had been employed for several years in boiling-down establishments in the Hawke’s Bay District, but he left there in March last. Inquiry is made for him at the instance of his father.

Information is requested respecting William Davis, a native of England, a labourer and platelayer, forty years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, medium build, dark complexion. He arrived at Wellington about eleven years ago by the ship “ Forfarshire,” and was last heard of at Christchurch. It is

said that about eleven months ago a man of the name fell through a railway bridge at Havelock, and died on the following day from the effects of the injuries received from the fall.

Information is requested respecting Hannah O’Connor, a native of County Galway, Ireland, a domestic servant, about twenty-four years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, small features, nose slightly turned up, light-brown hair. She is inquired for so that she may be proceeded against for the support of her illegitimate child. She was seen in Dunedin about the 26th ultimo.

Information is requested respecting Lachlan McKinnon, a native of Barrabool Hills, near Geelong, Victoria, a labourer, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, brown hair and light eyes. He was heard of in May, 1882, at Flint and Wedlock’s, butchers, Arrowtown. He was formerly employed by Mr. D. McKay, farmer, Kinlock, Gore. He is inquired for at the instance of Mr. D. Sinclair, schoolmaster, Livingstone, Otago.

Information is requested respecting Daniel Moore, sometimes called D. McManus, a native of Belfast, Ireland, a baker, 5 feet 41 inches high, slight build, dark complexion, a mole on right cheek, genteel appearance. He left Belfast in 1343 with a quantity of hardware for this colony. It is said that he traded between this colony and Sydney. He is inquired for at the instance of Mr. Bernard McManus, 25, Blagdon Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne, England.

Information is requested respecting Joseph L. Oonnsel, who deserted his wife at Melbourne, to whom he was married in 1870. Description: Tall, slightly stooped, straight features, dimpled chin, fair complexion, large blue eyes, brown hair whiskers and moustache, mark of cut on middle finger of one of hands ; addicted to drink; plays the piano and sings. He took horses from Melbourne to India by the steamer “ Bangalore ” in 1873. His father is a pensioner from the Victoria Lands Department; and his brother Lawrence was engaged for a number of years gum-digging in this colony. He is related to Judge Bogan, of the Native Land Court, Auckland. It is said that he was married in Melbourne, since 1875, to Mary Ryan or O’Ryan, a dressmaker, who served- her time at Messrs. Buckley and Nun’s drapery establishment, Bourke Street, Melbourne, that they came to this colony, and are now supposed to bo living together in or near Wellington, and have one or two children. She is described as about twenty-four years of age, dark hair, freckled. If found, he should not be informed that he is being inquired for.

Information is requested respecting James Corbett, a native of Lancashire, a carpenter, fifty-five years of age, married, has eight children. He left Gravesend on the 18th April, 1854, by the ship “ Siberia ” with a number of others under a Mr. Hamilton, for Auckland, and was last heard of atHew Plymouth about fifteen years ago. Inquiry is made for him at the instance of Mr. John Sharpies, St. Ann’s Wells, Fairfield, Manchester.

Information is requested respecting Sarah Parriment, a native of London, a general servant, twenty-four years of age, short stature, fair hair, abrupt manner of speaking, pronunciation slightly defective. She left Plymouth on the 31st January, 1883, by the barque “Rakaia,” for Auckland. She is inquired for at the instance of Mrs. Bennett, 26 Beverley Road, Averley, London.
