Reduction. Fourth-class Detective John Strathern, No. 679, to Firstclass Constable. Resignations. Constable John Strathern, No. 679. Constable Joseph Fischer, No. 2321. Constable William George Brand, No. 2529. Rewards. The sum of £3 10s. each has been awarded to Sergeant Francis 11. Morico and Constable Thomas Drake, Christchurch Police, for the arrest of three deserters from the ship “ Marlborough.”
The sum of £1 each has be.en awarded to Detective James J. Tuohy, Sergeant Nicholas Kiely, and Constable George Foreman, Auckland Police, for the arrest of three stragglers from Her Majesty’s ship “ Lark.”
The sum of £2 each has been awarded to Sergeant William Thomas Mason and Constable Patrick J. Herlihy, and the sum of £1 to Constable Patrick McCormack, Lyttelton Police, for the arrest of a deserter from the steamer “ Tongariro.”
Tiie sum of £3 each has been awarded to Detective William L. Chrystal, and Constables John O’Donovan and Walter Williams, Wellington Police, for the arrest of three seamen for being absent without leave from the barque “ Villalta.”
A police-station has been formed at Brunnerton, in the Westland District.
