(From Gazette, 1883, pages 1744 and 1781.) Regulations under “ The Sale of Poisons Act, 1871,” REVOKED. Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL. At the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of December, 1883. Present: His Excellency the Governor in Council. Whereas by an Order in Council dated the second day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, certain regulations were made under “ The Sale of Poisons Act, 1871,” respecting the sale of strychnine and arsenic: And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said regulations: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said “ Sale of Poisons Act, 1871,” doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council and the regulations made thereunder. Additional Rivers open for Trout-fishing in Nelson. Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor. In pursuance of the powers and authority vested in him by “The Salmon and Trout Act, 1869,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand doth hereby make the following regulation for the Provincial District of Nelson:— Any holder of a license as mentioned in the regulations made under “ The Salmon and Trout Act, 1867,” on the third day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eightythree, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, may fish for trout in each river or stream in the Provincial District of Nelson which flows into Blind Bay, from the date hereof until the thirty-first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, but only between
the hours of five o’clock in the morning and ten o’clock in the evening. As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three. THOMAS DICK.
Fixing Sittings op the District Courts of Nelson and Westland. Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor. In pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that sittings of the District Courts of Nelson and Westland, for civil and criminal business, shall be held as follows, from and after the first day of January next, in lieu of those previously fixed and appointed : Nelson District. In the Provincial Hall, Nelson, on the 7th January, 7th February, 28th February, 3rd April, 17th April, Ist May, sth June, 30th June, 4th August, 21st August, 29th September, 16th October, 3rd November, 4th December. Westland District. In the Supreme Courthouse, Hokitika, on the 24th January, 18th March, 12th May, 10th July, 4th September, 13th November. In the Courthouse, Greymouth, on the 21st January, 21st March, 15th May, 14th July, Bth September, 17th November. In the Courthouse, Reefton, on the 17th January, 24th March, 22nd May, 21st July, 15th September, 24th November. In the Courthouse, Westport, on the 14th January, 27th
March, 26th May, 24th July, 18th September, 27. h November. Provided that, in case any of the days so fixed as aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the Court appointed for that day shall be holden on the first day thereafter not being a holiday. As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eighteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and eiglity-three. THOMAS DICK.
