Miscellaneous Information.
Appointments as Constables. Thomas Toole, No. 2600. William Lewis, No. 2601. John Shepheard, No. 2602. Resigned. Constable Charles Halls, No. 1908. Rewards. The sum of £5 has been awarded by the Railway Department to Sergeant Joseph Barrett, Westport Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the recovery of a cogwheel, &c., stolen off a hand-crane at Westport wharf.
The sum of £1 has been awarded by Mr. Francis Sidey to Constable William Hunter Barrett, Wellington Police, in recognition of his services in connection with the arrest of men found illegally on Mr. Sidey’s premises in Manners Street.
The sums of £5 and £3 respectively have been awarded to Constables Peter Levy and Charles Knapp, Nelson Police, for the arrest of three deserters from the barque “ May Queen.”
