Missing Friends.

(See Police Gazette, 1881, page 102.) Daniel McMillan was seen in Dunedin on the 17th or 18th ultimo.

George Winders is missing from his home at Sunny side, Kaikorai, near Dunedin, since the 20th May last. Description: Ten years of age, fair hair and complexion; wore dark-tweed jacket, dark printed moleskin trousers, and black wideawake hat. He was seen at the Forbury races on the 24th May.

(See Police Gazette, 1881, page 55.) John Gethin was employed on Mr. T. Carroll’s sheep-run, Wairoa, Hawke’s Bay, about June, 1877.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Charles, alias Cornelius Lewis, twenty-seven years of age, medium height, dark hair. He had been employed as a clerk in the Ham Mills Clothing Factory, near Stroud, Gloucestershire, England, and in 1874 came to this colony as an emigrant. He prospected for gold on the Haast River, and in December, 1878, was working on the railway-line at Balclutha. His letters were addressed, at his request, to the Post Office, Dunedin; but since December, 1878, they have been returned unclaimed. He spoke about returning to England, and sometimes sent money to his mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Lewis, Middle Street, Uplands, near Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Thomas Baker, a native of Horokiwi Yalley, Wellington, a halfcaste Maori, twenty-five years of age. He left his home at Horokiwi Yalley about twelve years ago, and it is believed joined the Armed Constabulary, and served under Yon Tempskey when killed. Property has been left him ; and his sister, Mrs. Grant, of Adelaide Road, Wellington, is anxious to find him, if living, or, if dead, to know the particulars of his death.
