Horse and Cattle Stealing.
Stolen between 8 p.m. on tho 19th, and G a.m. on the 20th ultimo, from a paddock at Styx, Canterbury District, a dark brown pony horse, four years old, about 14 hands 1 inch high, white streak down face, branded believed on off shoulder, shows the white in corner of off eye, well bred; the property of James Johns ; value £ls. Identifiable.

The light grey flea-bitten mare, the property of Timothy Howard, reported stolen from a paddock at Auckland, has been recovered; not stolen.
Stolen about the 25th June last, from Paroa, Westland District, a red and white milch cow, round red spots all over body, tops of horns turned in at point, branded pi on each rump; the property of John Dowling ; value £2. Identifiable.
SurrosED stolen on the 15th ultimo, at the Silver Stream, McKenzie Country, Canterbury District, a dark brown gelding, four years old, about 15 hands high, branded J on near shoulder and O under mane,' a dent in the forehead caused by a kick, small star on forehead; the property of Henry Sturmey ; value £23. Identifiable.
Stolen on the Bth instant, from the Hutt Racecourse, Wellington District, a light bay mare, six years old, black points, branded O on near shoulder, had on a saddle a good dell worn, and a bridle ; the property of Charles Whittington ; value £l6. Identifiable.
Stolen about the 23rd ultimo, from a paddock at Caversham, near Dunedin, a dark brown saddle and harness gelding, six years old, 15 hands 1 inch high, cob build, short switch tail, unbranded, newly shod; the property of Thomas F. McDonough; value £ls. Identifiable.
Stolen about the sth instant, from a paddock near Clyde Street, Dunedin, a dark brown mare, eight years old, 14 hands high, branded B on near shoulder, long bushy tail and heavy mane, in good condition, newly shod ; the property of John Barns ; value £ls. Identifiable.
Stolen on the 7th of October last, from a paddock at Turakina, Wellington District, a chesnut gelding, hack breed, about 15£ hands high, branded OA on off shoulder ; the property of Alexander Me Convey.
