Our Illustrations.
An illustrated account of “ Borderer’s ” visit to the famous Wellington Park stud farm forms the leading feature of our illustrations this week. Six of the most promising yearling colts are represented, and as will be seen from their pictures this year’s youngsters at the Park are an exceptionally well-grown lot. Yearlings are fidgety customers to tackle with the camera, but we think our photographer has done them justice. The game daughter of King Quail —Anna, Anita, who upset several pots on Thursday las by winning the Auckland Cup from a well-backed field, is represented in our columns this week. This mare has been a perfect gold mine to the Duder Bros., and must now stand many pounds on the right side of their ledger. St. Paul, who overthrew the crack Armilia in the Great Northern Foal Stakes on Thursday, finds a niches in this week’s album. This brother to St. Clements is as game as he is handsome, and is evidently cut out for a successful tuff career.
On page 5 will be found a view of the Manawatu Cycling Ground, showing a portion of the track.'
