Swimming
The fifth annual meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held on Friday evening last at the Harbour Board Buildings. The following affiliated clubs were represented by their delegates :— Auckland, Christchurch, East Christchurch, Gisborne, Port Ahuriri, St. Albans, and Whangarei. Owing to the expense of the banner, and a loss on the sale of annuals, the balance-sheet showed a debit of 6s gd. As the number of affiliated clubs has considerably increased, it is not expected that this will occur again. The Port Ahuriri, Whangarei, Akaroa, and Napier Clubs were admitted. A limit of ,£io was fixed for prizes, and all private matches are to be strictly disallowed. St. Clair; auditors, Messrs Esam and O’Mera ; Appeal Committee —North: Messrs O’Mera, Goldwater, and the secretary ; South : Messrs Airey, Mountfort, and A. Smith.
