October 12. Boy Scouts. A very enjoyable evening was spent at the Parish Hall on Friday by a large number of parents and friends of the Boy Scouts, under the command of Scoutmaster Rev. Air. Nicholas. The boys inarched, sang, rendered first aid in case of fire or accident, ami gave an excellent display of physical drill, provid-

ing their guests with a most interesting evening. Dr. Reid Maekay gave u splendid address during the evening on the opinions of some notable men in Lindon on tho Boy Scout movement. Personal. Air. and Mrs. S. Tansley (Wellington) are visiting Afrs. Irvine. Mrs. P. Hockley and her small son have returned to Dannevirke, after being away on a holiday visit for about two months. Airs, and Aliss Hartgill, Mrs. Bickford, Airs. J. Armstrong, left by mail train on Wednesday for Wellington, to bo present at “Kismet.”

Mr. and Mrs. 1/ RaUibone were present at .Miss F. Rathbone's marriage to CaptailS Robert Chesney, R.N.Z.A., «>n Wednesday, at the Lower Hutt, Wellington. Miss Wiltshire left on Wednesday for Wellington, where she intends spending a few weeks. Dr. and Mrs. T. W. Coates, who spent last year in Dannevirke, but are now residing in Vancouver, arrived on Thursday on a visit to their daughter, Mrs. L.’Mair. Mrs. I*. Clarke returned this week from it visit to Napier and Hastings.
