HASTINGS.
October 12th. Summer Games. We are having delightful spring weather. Golf will soon be superseded, and croquet and tennis will bo quite the rage. This year the tenuis tournament is to be held in Hastings, and wo are looking forward to a big gathering. Croquet is already being played on many private lawns. Spring Toilettes. I noticed some nice spring toilettes lately. Aliss V. Russell is wearing a cream cloth coat and skirt, smarty hat of burnt straw, cerise high standing flowers; Airs Anderson, navy cloth coat and skirt, small, grey straw hat with bows of blue striped silk; Aliss Anderson, grey cloth coat and skirt, smart cinnamon brown straw hat wreathed with red roses; Airs Wood, marine blue tailored coat and skirt, large hat en suite; Airs Brodie, navy coat and skirt, smart sunshine .hat, with shaded blue silk bow and miniature roses; Aliss Luckie, smart black frock, trimmed with lace, pale blue straw hat with black velvet and wings; Miss F. Lee is wearing light brown linen costume, large black hat wreathed with daises; Airs AlartinSmith, dark mole coat and skirt, large black plumed hat. Personal. Friends will bo pleased to learn that Air Campbell, ALP., is recovering from his serious illness. (Mr and Airs IL E. Beamish and Aliss Joyce Beamish left by express on Alonday for Christchurch. Aliss Maekersey has returned from AVellington. Air and Airs J. Faulkner have gone for a motor tour to AVellington. Alias A. Hewson has returned from Napier. Airs and Miss Gibbons have returned to Marton. Mrs Milne (Dunedin) is visiting her sister, Aire James Landels.
Aliss Ritchie is visiting her sister, Airs Wood. Aliss Fitzroy and Aliss Williams are staying in Napier.
