February 23. Tennis and Croquet Club. Visitors and players at the courts last Saturday were: Mesdames Giesen, Hartgill, Robertshaw, Russell, McDowell, Vartan, Misses Baaker, Hartgill, Cowper, Pollen (Napier), Mason (Hastings), Russell, Pettit, Hitchings (Napier), Robertshaw, McGibbon, Maekersey (Hastings). Delicious afternoon tea was provided at the Rangatira Club’s courts on Wednesday by Mrs J. Simmers and Mrs Roake. Despite the high wind-blowing, a number of interesting games were played. Some of those present were: Mesdames Baddiley, Harvey. Soundy, MeNieol, Ryan, Bennett, McDowell, Misses Caulton and Morgan.
