August 18. Dramatic and Musical Entertainment. A most enjoyable dramatic and musical performance was given by local amateurs last Tliursday evening at Airs. Brown’s residence, the proceeds being in aid of the pavilion fund of the Tennis and Croquet Club. Two little plays.were given. In the first the parts were filled by Miss Turton, Aliss AL Moore, and Air. Page. A farce, entitled “Freezing a Alother-in-Tjaw,” was most amusing. 'Those taking part in this were Airs. Bell, Aliss Williamson, Air. Bell, Air. Kimbell, and Air. Cox. Those responsible for the musical piogramme were Baine, Roe, Bennett, Afisses Reilly (2), Harvey, Bernard, Hughes, Alessrs. AV. Hutchens, Crump. Zachariah. Amongst the audience I noticed: Afesdames Page, Kimbell, Williamson, Kenwick, Fortune, Webster, Campbell, Holder, AVallace, Foyster, Duckworth, Nolan, AVUson, Nalder, Hawken, McLean (2), Buckley,

Parrington. Bright, Bayley. Parkinson, Misses Good. Clapeott, Harris, Koch, McCartney, Stewart, Glenn (2), Whitcomlie, Moore. Morse, Raine, Nolan (2). McLean, Young, Johnson. Williams, Kimbell (2), Messrs. Webster Sellar. Holder, Parkinson (2), Bridge, Raine. Bright. Nancarrow, Bayley, Richardson. Smith Caplen (2), etc. Personal. Miss Wallis (England) is on a visit to his sister, Mrs. Harry Lysaght. Mr. and Airs. Glasson are spending a holiday in Auckland. Miss Hull (Auckland) is on a visit to Airs. Bell. Miss Littlejohn (Wellington) is staying with her sister, Mrs. McDiarmid. Mrs. Lovell has returned from Auckland.
