November 12. A Concert. On Friday evening Madame Isherwood •nd her pupils gave their third annual •nncert, and were greeted with a full house, and most enthusiastic audience; •he was also assisted by the Cambridge Orchestral Society, who played some pleasing items. Mr. and Mrs. Kaber Harrison gave a most excellent rendering of the "Quarrel Scene” from "The School for Scandal.” Mrs. Kaber Harrison also gave a recitation, "The Bishop ami the Caterpillar." and the Monologue “Modern Improvements" which was most •musing. Madame Isherwood whom we have not had the pleasure of hearing for some time was in excellent voice. Mr. M. McDermott was an excellent accompanist. Madame Isherwood was wearing a black net dress over silk, the bodice encrusted iu jet. Mrs. Kaber Harrison in the ‘‘Quarrel Scene” was wearing a black spangled net gown over silk and some rich lace trimming the decolletage; in the other scenes she was wearing a stylish go.wn of pale grey cashmere de soie. made with pointed tuni.r trimmed with narrow black velvet, underskirt of figured grey gauze over glace, the bodice was finished with • large pointed white lace "Peter Pan” collar. .Amongst the audience I noticed Mrs. Rout wearing black an 1 white blouse and black skirt; Mrs. -Edmonds, creme voile gown: Mrs. Wells, black cashmere de soie gown, braided, and yoke and collar of crepe de chine; Miss TT. Mells, black chiffon taffeta gown; Mrs. Richardson, black brocaded silk, yoke and sleeves of tucked white net and trimmed with jet: MisS Richardson, •white net blouse. Hack skirt; Mrs. McDermott, black chiffon taffeta with -white lace yoke; Miss Beale, white embroidered muslin:' Mrs. Nieoll. white embroidered muslin: Miss E. Hill, pink muslin with a touch of black velvet: Miss Williams, white muslin. Miss Gwynnetb. black and white striped silk; Mrs. Couper, white silk and laee blouse, Idaek skirt; Mrs. Crowther, pale Hue silk blouse. black skirt; Miss Willie, white muslin: Mrs. Farnall. black silk ami creme laee yoke: Mrs. A. Gibbons, white frock, pretty pale pink theatre coat: Mrs. Speight, white muslin, and blue theatre coat trimmer], with white; Mrs. Taylor, black silk and lace gown. Bridge Party. On Friday last Mrs. W. A. Scott gave a delightful little bridge party. The drawing-room was gay with flowers, •nd was laid in the dining-room. Mrs. Scott received in a cream lace Mouse and .-ream voile skirt; Mrs. Caldwell, a lovely dress of bine aeroplane coGcnne over silk with Parisicnne eoat of lac®

the same colour as the gown, and cream lace yoke and under-sleeves over gold tissue; Mre. I Dr.) Roberts, eream silk gown, the skirt with tucks at the hem, and panel of silk embroidered insertion down the front, yoke and undersleeves of the same, laee on corsage, and .spray of crimson roses; Mrs. Cowper, white silk blotsse and black silk skirt; Mrs. Nieoll, white spotted net frock over glace, bodice trimmed with Duchess point lace and silver sequins; Miss Gwynneth, grey pailette silk trimmed with silver tissues, tucked white net, and black brocade; Miss Keyee, pale blue muslin frock with pointed yoke of rucked white muslin. The men were: — Messrs. Scott, Nieoll, Farnall, Foster, Hindmarsh, and Dr. Roberts. Personal. Miss C. Willis has returned home to Cambridge for a long holiday. Mns. A. Stone, of Cambridge, has gone for a trip South by way of the Wanganui River. She was accompanied by Mrs. C. Stone, oi Mt. Eden, Auckland.
