October 28. Al. Enjoyable Dance. ' A very enjoyable dance was given on Friday by Mr and Mrs IL Lethbridge, of “Dalvey,” Turakina. It was in honour of their daughter Meta, who made her debut that evening. The ballroom was a large detached building with a delightful ■upstairs' room, the floor being in the very best of order. The walls were

draped,with white muslin, and decorated with masses of effective greenery. The Marton band discoured the best of dance iiiusie. Supper was laid in the diningroom, the tables being decorated with ■masses of glorious pink roses and foliage. The card room had pink and crimson roses. From the entrance gates to the ballroom gaily coloured Jajwnese lanterns were hung. About ten or twelve motor ears, etc., went from Wanganui, and as it was a lovely moonlight night the sixteen miles' drive was very enjoyable.
