, Ma r;-h 3rd. Farewell*. ' On Friday evening a number of the Blenheim Rowing Club members eembled at the Grosvenor Hotel to make
a presentation to Mr. F. G. Galvin, of Dalgety and Co.’s staff, who has been transferred to Wellington. The presentation was a very nice travelling rug. A pleasant ceremony took place on Monday afternoon on the Blenheim Bowling green, when Captain Falconer (who is leaving on Tuesday, en route to the Old Country), and Father Fay (w-ho has been recently promoted to Temuka), were the recipients of tokens of the esteem in which they are held by Blenheim bowlers. The presentations took the form of travelling rug in each case.
Birthday Party. On Wednesday afternoon Mrs. A. J. Maclaine entertained a number vf small children at “Wilmot House,” in honour of her son lan’s birthday. A dainty tea was laid out on the large verandah, and a pleasant time was spent by the young people playing games on the front lawn. Some of those present were: —Mesdames Horton (2), Adams, Wilmot (Nelson), Bennett, Burden, Davis, Canavan, Rose, Fell, Misses Horton (4), Coleman (3), Murphy (2), Parsons, Joan Rose, Mollie Pentreath, Francis and Dorothy Eccles, Susie Bennett, Gwen and Barbara Griffiths, Leslie and Jean Burden, Ward (3), C. Canavan, Molly Wilmot, Marjory and Fredo Horton, L. Mowat, Alyne Fell, Masters Corry,(2), lan Nairn, Parsons, H. Adams, Noel Rose, Roland Bennett, Pat and Frank Horton, Ken Davis, Bob Canavan, B. Pentreath. Personal. Dr. and Mrs. Nesbitt, of Dunedin, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wolferstan. Mr. and Mrs. D’Arcy Chaytor, “ Marshlands,” are visiting the Empire City. Miss Frances Chaytor is visiting friends in Marton. ■ , li ' ' Mrs. Woods is visiting friends in Ashburton. Mr. and Mrs. Sturtevant (New Plymouth) have been sipending a few days in Blenheim. ' Mrs. R. Adams and her little son have returned from visiting friends in Nelson. ■ Mrs. L. Griffiths, Springlands, has been staying with Mrs. A. E. Weld, at Flaxbourne. Miss -Bennett, : Masterton, is visiting Mrs. C. Waddy, at Ona'malutu. ! “ Mrs. Drummond, Wellington, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs.’K.
