'— March 3. Bridge Parties. Several enjoyable bridge parties have been given during this week. A particularly successful one was given conjointly by Mrs Worthy (ChHstchurch) and Mrs Nicholas (Ihnvera) as a farewell to their many friends in Nelson. The prize was won by Mrs Barclay Harrison. Both the hostesses wore black gowns. Some of those invited were: Mrs J. Sharp, Mrs Renwick, Miss Richmond, Mrs Booth, Mrs Barr, Mrs Allen, Mrs Dodson, Mrs Fowler, Mrs Harris, Mrs Coote, Mrs Robison, Mrs Airey, Miss Fraser (Queensland), Misses Ledger, Webb and Gibbs. Another enjoyable, bridge party was given by Mrs V. H. Barr. The prizes were won by Mrs Allen and Mr G. Hoby. Mrs Barr was wearing a becoming Empire gown of grey striped ninon, with cream lace, and touches of pink velvet; Mrs Allen, black charineuse;' Mrs J. Sharp, black; Mrs. Robison, grey voile; Miss E. Ledger, white satin charmeuse; Miss Webb, pale blue muslin; Miss Richmond, white chiffon, over silk; Mrs G. Hoby, saxe blue messaline, Empire frock; Mrs C. Broad, grey taffeta; Miss Bunny, pale yellow glace; Mrs Airey, black net; Miss Houlker, black chiffon; Dr. Barr; Messrs Hoby, Allen, Broad, Houlker, Robison and Airev.

A Concert Company. A large and enthusiastic audience greeted the Andrew Black Concert Company at each of their concerts. ~ Miss Hey Cross, the talented contralto, wore a Princess gown of shell-pink charmeuse. Miss Lilian Delaiiy, the Sydney pianist, was gowned in white chiffon/ with dong panel of irridescent galori.- ‘ '• >.

Moore, Mr and Mrs Macquarie, Miss Fiaser (Queensland), Mrs Harrison, Mrs and Miss Leggatt, Misses Gilkison, Miss F.’ Edwards, Mr and the Misses Cock, Misses Clarke, Mrs S. Gibbs. Mrs and Miss Fell, Mrs Kempthorne, Misses Hamilton,- Mr arid Mrs R. Fell, Mr and Mrs H. Cock.

Personal. Mrs W. Murray leaves by the Mongolia on a two years’ visit to Scotland. Dr. and Mrs Mackay have gone for a trip to England and Europe. Mr and Mrs Walter Colt, of Broome, West Australia, return to ' Nelson this week.

Dr. Colhoun (Dunedin) has been visiting Nelson. Mrs Nicholas has returned to Hawera. Mrs F. Wasbourn and Miss Gibbs have gone to Timaru. Mrs Blechynden has returned from her visit to Wellington. Mrs Worthy has gone back to Christchurch'.

Miss M. Blackett has gone to Wellington for'sonie months. ■ Dr. and Mrs S. Gibbs and Dr. Hudson, who have been to the Medical Conference, have returned to Nelson. Mr and Mrs Neave. and Miss Cotton (Christchurch) have been staving with Mrs C. Y. Fell. Misses N. and P. Coster have returned from the South. Miss Livescy (Christchurch) is the guest of Mrs Glasgow (Brooklands). Mrs P. Mules (Woodville), who has been staying with Mrs Mules, Bishopd’ale, lias returned to her home.
