Dear Bee, May 17. THE EXHIBITION ORCHESTRA gave two delightful concerts here last week. Their playing was much appreciated/ being quite a revelation to a Wanganui. audience. Amongst those present were Airs Gifford Marshall, in a pale pink crepe de chine frock, with transparent laee yoke and sleeves: Miss Moore, in a pale pink floral muslin ifro-k, with vandyked-shaped yoke 'of line cream net lace, and elbow sleeves edged with lace; Mrs 11. Good, black chiffon taffeta frock, with berthe and bolero effect of laee and net; Miss Grace (YVaiiarapa), beautiful cream chiffon taffeta gown, profusely trimmed with lace, white feather stole; Mrs S. Izard (Wairarapa), pale grey radium gown, with bands of narrow velvet ribbon. wide fur stile; Mrs Stevenson, cream chiffon blouse, with hand-paint-ed idnk roses and leaves on it, blaek sill, skirt; Mrs A. E. Kitchen, cream chiffon taffeta evening blouse, with fine cream lace yoke and berthe effect of lace, fall elbow sleeves edged with lace, black silk skirt; Mrs Wilford. black chiffon taffeta gown, with vest of cream lace end .net, edged With black jet; Miss Wilford wore a becoming frock of

cream taffeta, with berthe of taffeta, edged with a kilting of the same, and f ill of cream lace, and in her coiffure she wore . entwined pale pastel blue ribbons; Mrs Fairburn, black silk and net, with fichu of net and laee, rose pink flowers on her corsage; Miss Moore,

black crepe de chine gown, with transparent laee yoke of tine cream lace, (■ream satin opera coat with collar df deep twine laee; Mrs Barnicoat, black chiffon taffeta and lace gown; Miss Barnicoat, white silk and lace frock, made with numerous tiny frills, and berthe of laee and not; Mrs Meldrum, whi‘<chiffon evening blouse, with white embossed roses on it, yoke of laee and full elbow sleeves, edged with lace, black silk skirt: Mrs Foreman, black silk gown, with yoke of eream lace, and long tight-fitting sleeves of creani insertion, with puffs of silk above thb elbow, long pale pink silk opera coat with wide ribbons to match, and collars banded with silk insertion and edged with white fur; Mrs C. Jones, blaek silk, with yoke and sleeves of blaek transparent lace, edged with jet: Airs Al. Jones, black silk costume. relieved with lace; Airs J. Hathe.rley. soft pale b'ue silk froek, with ganged skirt, and yoke of cream lace; Airs Hughes Johnston wore a beautiful blaek ehiffon taffeta gown, with front of folded cream chiffon and corsage with gauged silk: Airs J. C. Greenwood, white gauged silk blouse, with laee and white feather stole, blaek silk skirt: Airs Sarjeant, blaek evening gown, with beautiful Maltese laee fichu; Mrs Foster, eream silk blouse, profusely trimmed with lace and insertion, blaek satin skirt; Miss Baker wore a becoming cream silk froek, with berthe of lace and crimson roses on her corsage, creani opera cloak edged with fur; Airs Barnard Brown, blaek velvet gown, with berthe of real laee; Miss L. Barnard. Brown, pretty pale green chiffon taffeta frock, with berthe of lace and chiffon; Miss Barnard Brown, white silk evening gown, with lace and white opera coat edged with fur. On Wednesday there was a large attendance ON THE GOLF LINKS. Afternoon tea was given by Airs Cleghorn. The senior match resulted in a tie between Airs Innes and Aliss N. Cowper for the pair of silver vases presented by Miss Cave. Airs Innes' prize for the juniors, a golf club, was won by Miss Christie Amongst those present were Airs and Aliss Barnicoat. Airs Stewart, Alcsdanies Cleghorn, Sarjeant, Brookfield,.. Lomax, I‘harazyn, Lewis, Gifford Marshall, Clay, Nixon. Aliases Moore, Mason. Good ..(Hawera), Hardcastle, Bates. The first prize, a beautiful palm, was won by Mrs Blundell, and the booby, a pretty Liberty doll pincushion, fell to Mrs Dodgsliun. Amongst those present were Mesdames Stevenson, Wall, Hutton, C. Jones, Christie, Gordon, Aleldrum, D’Arcey. F. Jones, Blundell, Fairburn. Anderson, Hatherley, HughesJohnston. Greenwood, Dodgshun.
