Dear Bee,- May 17. Palmerston is asleep, socially, at present, and shows little sign of awakening. Beyond a few small bridge evenings there is no news to chronicle. On Wednesday Mrs. 11. Al. Ale Knight entertained a few friends AT BRIDGE. She was wearing a pretty blue silk blouse, with cream lace trimming, and blaek silk skirt. Those playing were Mr. and Mrs. McKnigl-t. Mr. and Mrs. Benell, Air. Armstrong. Miss Armstrong, Miss Randolph, and Dr. Pope. We have had several very fine day* lately, and I noticed many BECOMING TOILETTES IN THE STREET. Airs. R. Levin is wearing a navy blue Eton coat and skirt, burnt straw hat, with pink and crimson roses; Mrs. Louisson, brown Eton costume, braided in brown, creani lace vest, brown lur toque, with brown wings; Mrs. F. 8. Mcßae, navy blue, made with deep basque, white cloth collar and cuffs, navy hat, with green and navy plaid ribbon and

Wings; Mrs. MeKnight, cornflower blue coat and skirt, felt hat of two shades of bine, with peaeock leathers; Mrs. tonne 1, brown Eton costume, vest-u»nd cuffs of maize-coloured silk, brown • hat, with shaded brown tip; Mrs. A. N. Gibbons, blaek and white cheek costume, wirieeoleured hat; Mrs. G. Bagnall, pale grey, made with long coat, becoming blaek hat, with blaek tips; Mrs. H. Waldegrave, grey Norfolk coat and skirt, navy blue hat, with clusters of berries; Miss F. Waldegrave, navy blue, made with tightfitting three-quarter coat, white felt hat, with black velvet and blaek wings; Mrs. Moeller, in blaek, the coat made with a short basque, cream lace vest over red silk, red hat, with autumn tinted leaves; Mrs. Millton, blaek eloth costume, coat having eream eloth embroidered facings and cuffs, small blaek hat, with black tips; Mrs. Paisley, cream serge Eton eoat and skirt, blaek hat; Miss Armstrong, navy blue, with cream cloth collar and cuffs, braided in navy, navy felt hat, with green velvet and navy wings; Mrs. Holmes, brown corduroy velvet costume, burnt straw hat, with brown and green chiffon scarf; Mrs. Wilson, dark green eostume, made with .long eoat, green straw hat, with green wings; Mrs. C. Harden, fawn Eton eoat and skirt, white hat, with white wings; Mrs. W. Harden, navy blue, coat made with deep basque, navy hat, with glace bows and clusters of berries on bandeau.
