HAWERA.
Dear Bee, December 22. There is not much news to tell you this week as nearly everybody is getting ready to go away for the holidays, or preparing for Christinas. Mrs. Welsh entertained a few of her friends at a small eroquet party last Thursday- afternoon. It was very- enjoyable. Iler lovely garden added greatly to the enjoyment of the afternoon. The flowers, which are all out, looked exquisite with their blaze of colours, (Several games of croquet were played, after which a dainty afternoon tea was served. Last Thursday afternoon Mrs. Koch gave a children’s party for her little daughter Brenda. Needless to say the children all enjoyed themselves thoroughly and revelled in the Christmas tree, which was in the drawingroom. Mr. and Mrs. Koch were untiring in their efforts to entertain their small guests, and I am sure all the children went home wishing there was a party every week. Amongst some of those present were: Breads Koch, Sylvia Wcstenra, Rita Goodson, Nanny Brett, Sydney Toiiks, Inez Hirst, Jean Treadwell, Ix-igh Treadwell, Neff Williams,
Mary Unwken, Ernest Hftwken, etc.
