CAMBRIDGE.

Dear Bee, October 22. On Wednesday evening A MOST SUCCESSFUL AND ENJOYABLE DANCE was given as a farewell to Airs Payze and her family prior to leaving their new home at Alatamata. Airs Taylor was the organiser, and took the management of affairs, and she is stuh a splendid hostess that all were well looked after and enjoyed themselves. She was assisted by Alesdames AlcCullagh and E. Souter and the Alisses Skeet and Clarke. The hall was beautifully decorated with flags and lycopodium hung in festoons from corner to corner of the ceiling. Quantities of English may decorated the stage, which was arranged as a drawingroom. The supper-room was also decorated with lycopodium, and on the supper table the flowers, which were white azaleas, were arranged most artistically in the form of an arch. The supper was most recherche, and consisted of all the dainties of the season. Airs Payze was wearing a black silk and net gown; Miss H. Payze, a pretty white muslin, wilh scarlet chou on bodice; and Aliss Dorothy Payze, white muslin. Jpst before supper Mr G. A. Clarke made a very appropriate little speech, saying how much Airs Payze and her family would be missed from amongst us, and wishing them every happiness in their new home, to which Air C. Payze responded on behalf of his mother and sisters. In the absence of the Archdeacon and Mrs Willis, Airs YVells presented Airs Payze with a handsomely carved oak and silver biscuit barrel, and a silver bread fork from the guild as a slight acknowledgment of the good work she had done for the cliureli. HOCKEY MATCH on the Bardowie grounds, between a team of Cambridge ladies and a team of gentlemen in fancy dress. The latter were so handicapped by their skirts in the management of which they got into great difficulties that the ladies proved victorious, winning by two to one.
