Assault.
A warrant has been issued by the Christchurch Bench for the apprehension of a coloured man, named King, charged with having, on the 20th instant, at Christchurch, committed an assault, with intent to commit a rape, on a child 14 years of age, named McConnell. He is an American black, about 5 feet 6 inches high, stout build, full heavy features ; wore dark coat and trousers, dark billycock hat. Speaks good English.
