Margaret Foy, arrested on the Ist instant by the Christchurch Police for larceny, and sentenced to fourteen days’ imprisonment, was again brought up before the Bench at Christchurch, charged with a similar offence, and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, the same to take effect at the expiration of the former sentence.

Edward Sampson, arrested for an assault with intent to commit a rape on a child eight years old, has been arrested by the Christchurch Police, and committed for trial.

Julia Brennan, arrested on the 2nd instant on a charge of larceny by the Christchurch Police, has been discharged by the Bench at Christchurch.

David Sinckler, charged with house-breaking, on the 18th instant, has been arrested by the Rangiora Police, and committed for trial. —25th April, 1864.

John Kennedy, and James Thompson, arrested by the Arowhenua Police for stealing ale and porter from a dray at Arowhenua, have been convicted, and each sentenced to four months’ imprisonment. —14th April, 1864.

Two boys named Thomas Garlics and Richard Henry, were arrested by the Heathcote Yalley Police for placing an iron plate on the rails of the. Ferrymead and Christchurch Railway on the 28th instant, the former was fined £2, and the latter acquitted. — 21st April, 1864.

John Ossett, charged with stealing jewellery from Julias Meyers, of Kaiapoi, on the 7th instant, has been arrested by the Kaiapoi Police, and committed for trial.—9th April, 1864.
