Laid on the Table of the House of Representatives ORDERS OF REFERENCE Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives Wednesday, the 16th Day of July, 1947 Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of nine members, to whom sha stand referred, after the first reading, all Bills affecting or in any way relating to the lands of the Crown, or education, or other public reserves ; the Committee to have power to recommend such amendments therein as it thinks proper, and to report generally, when necessary, upon the principles and provisions of the Bill: the Committee to consist of Mr. Baxter, Mr. Corbett, Mr. Gerard, Mr. Gordon, Mr. Kidd, Mr. Langstone, Mr. Moohan, Mr. Walls, and the Mover." —(Hon. Mr. C. F. Skinner.) Thursday, the 25th Day of September, 1947 Ordered, " That the petitions of G. Archey and others, I. E. Pattison and others, E. A. Carr and others, E. W. Barker and others, G. Mackey and others, W. Archibald and others, Mary Blair and others, G. R. Scott and others, E. T. Petty and others, A. A. Irvine and others, E. Wallis and others, Alice Manthel and others, M. Friday, the 2 Ist Day of November, 1947 Ordered, " That the Land Laws Amendment Bill be referred to the Lands Committee."—(Hon. Mr. C. F. Skinner.) Ordered, " That the Lands Committee have power to sit during the recess and for twenty-eight days after the commencement of the next session at such times as the Committee may see fit, and that the Committee be authorized to visit and inspect the Waipoua State Forest and other kauri stands in that vicinity, and to report upon the petitions relating thereto within twenty-eight days after the commencement of next session." —(Hon.
