(2) The Committee recommends for the consideration of the Committee on the Bill the amendments set out the Schedule attached hereto. 3rd September, 1947. Schedule of Suggested Amendments in the Waerenga-a-hika Trust Bill Clause 13— Subclause (1): To omit from lines 11 and 12 the words " four thousand and six hundred pounds and to substitute the words " two thousand and one hundred pounds ". Subclause (5) — To omit from lines 38, 39, and 40 on page 8 and from line 1 on page 9 the words "in or towards the erection, furnishing, and maintenance of Anglican Church buildings for Maori congregations within the Turanga Pastorate, and also ". To omit all the words in lines 3 to 7 on page 9. To omit the word " Native " from line 2, page 9, and insert the word " Maori " in lieu thereof. Hanon and 25 Others, and Maora Ruru and 25 Others I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered these petitions, and, having suggested certain amendments for the consideration of the Committee on the Waerenga-a-hika Trust Bill which would meet the objections of the petitioners, it has no further recommendation to make. 3rd September, 1947.
