Parliamentary Paper No. 159 (Report and Recommendation 011 Petition No. 158 of 1935, of Hone Rameka and others, relative to the Takapau Block). I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this paper should be referred to the Government. Ist October, 1941.

[Translation.] Pepa Paremata Nama 159 (Ripoata a kupu tohutohu mo Pitihana Nama 158 o te tau 1935 a Hoani Rameka ratou ko etahi atu mo Takapau Poraka). Kua whakahaua ahau kia ripoata kite whakaaro o te Komiti ko tenei pepa me tuku kite Kawanatanga. 1 o Oketopa, 1941.

Parliamentary Papers Nos. 169 and 170 (Balance-sheets and statements of accounts for the year ended 30th June, 1941 : East Coast Native Trust Lands). I am directed to report that the Committee has considered these papers and recommends that they be referred to the Government. Ist October, 1941.

Native Purposes Bill. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee has carefully considered the Native Purposes Bill, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, subject to amendments as shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. J. O'Brien, Chairman. 7th October, 1941.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Native Affairs Committee unanimously passed the following resolution : " That this Committee desires to record and report to the House its sensibility of the efficient manner in which the Chairman, Mr. James O'Brien, has, by his knowledge of Native affairs, impartiality, and courtesy, conducted the affairs of the Committee during the session." 15th October, 1941.
