No. 46. —Petition of Putua Rangatira, of Rarotonga. Praying that the men of Rarotongan and other islands of the Cook Group be afforded an opportunity of serving with the lighting forces of New Zealand. I am directed to report that the Committee has carefully considered this petition and appreciates the offer of the men of the Rarotongan and other islands of the Cook Group to serve with the New Zealand fighting forces ; the Committee finds, however, that the matter is one of Government policy, and has no recommendation to make. 4th September, 1941.
