No. 22/1936. —Petition of Alice A. Wilkin, of Mangonui County. Praying for an inquiry into certain transactions in connection with the erection of a house at Wilkin's Inlet, and for relief. I am directed to report that, in view of the fact that the petitioner still retains the title to her property, the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th November, 1937.

No. 118/1936. —Petition of T. F. Simpson, of Wellington. Praying for compensation or other relief for loss of property allegedly seized under a warrant of distress for rent. 1 am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 11th November, 1937.

No. 17.—Petition of Bachint Singh, of Fordell. Praying for compensation and other relief on account of alleged miscarriage of justice. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration, with a view to a Commission of inquiry being appointed to investigate this case. 18th November, 1937.

No. 14/1935. —Petition of J. Payne, of Napier. Praying for an inquiry into the affairs of a motion-picture company of which he is a shareholder. I am directed to report that the member in charge of the petition having expressed a desire to withdraw same, the Committee recommends that he be allowed to do so. 18th November, 1937.

No. 69. —Petition of C. Onyon. of Wellington. Praying that certain Court proceedings affecting the estate of Marion Howard be reopened. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 18th November, 1937.

No. 70. —Petition of C. Onyon, of Wellington. Praying for the annulment of an order affecting the control of certain property. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 18th November, 1937.

No. 112. —Petition of Mary Pilling, of 17 Mamie Street, Remuera. Praying for enactment of legislation enabling certain Court proceedings to be reopened. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 26th November, 1937.

No. 94. —Petition of S. Sadler, of Paeroa. Praying for compensation for alleged wrongful dismissal from the Public Works Department, and reinstatement in his former position. 1 am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for consideration, with a view to the petitioner being reinstated in the Public Service. 2nd December, 1937.

No. 109. —Petition of P. 0. Smith, of 8 Victoria Street, Christchurch. Praying for re-employment in the Public Service, compensation on account of wrongful dismissal from the Marine Department, and other relief. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration, with a view to the petitioner receiving compensation for the period he has not been employed in the Government Service and his immediate re-employment in some Government Department. 2nd December, 1937.
