Pinal Report. I have the honour to report that the Public Accounts Committee, consisting of ten members, has during the present session held twelve meetings, with an average attendance at each meeting of six members. The estimates of expenditure for the financial year ending 31st March, 1936, were considered by the Committee. Seventy officers of State were summoned before and examined by the Committee on the votes of their respective Departments. Twenty-four resolutions in all on the various items of the estimates were agreed to by tTie Committee and referred to the Hon. the Minister of Finance for consideration. The Government Railways (Wellington to Johnsonville) Bill was referred to the Committee for consideration. Extensive evidence was heard thereon, and the conclusions of the Committee, which carefully considered the Bill, were reported to the House. J. A. Nash, Chairman. 25th October, 1935.
