No. 149/1934-35. —Petition of Turi Carroll and 102 Others, of Wairoa. Praying for relief in connection with the East Coast Trust Lands. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 25th September, 1935.

E inoi ana kia whakaorangia mo te taha ki nga whenua kei raro i te Kai-tiaki o te Tairawhiti Kua whakahaua ahau kia ripoata kite whakaaro o te Komiti ko tenei pitihana me tuku ki te Kawanatanga kia whiriwhiria tino paitia. 25 o Hepetema, 1935.

No. 365. Petition of Mana Tume and 4 Others, of the Chatham Islands. Praying for determination of the ownership of certain lands at the Chatham Islands. I am directed to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition Mould be recommended to the Government for inquiry so far as the ownership m the Kekenone Block is concerned as stated in clause 5 of the petition, but excluding the Morion title to other lands; anc! further the Committee recommends to the Government that the necessary legislation should be enacted to enable this particular inquiry to be made. The Committee recommends that this report be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 2nd October, 1935.
