ORDERS OF REFERENCE. Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Tuesday, the 21st Day of July, 1931. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to whom shall be referred all matters relating to mining and all Bills relating to mining ; three to be a quorum ; the Committee to consist of Mr. Black, Mr. Bodkin, Mr. Hamilton, Mr. Hawke, Mr. H. E. Holland, Mr. Martin, Mr. Munns, Mr. Samuel, Mr. Waite, and the Mover." (Hon. Mr. Murdoch.) Fbiday, the 30th Day of October,l93l. Ordered, " That the Mining Amendment Bill be referred to the Goldfields and Mines Committee." (H on. Mr. Jones.)

I have the honour to report that, as a matter of policy is involved in the petition, the Committeerecommends that it be referred to the Government for consideration. 17th September, 1931.

No. 53.—Petition of 0. de Santa. Peaying for monetary redress in respect of alleged injury. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 17th September, 1931.
