Praying for inquiry into ownership of reserves out of Kaingaroa Block, named Motuinako and Rekereke, and that titles be issued to Ngatimanawa Tribe, or that adequate compensation be granted. No. 50/1926. —Petition of Gustav Apolpi-i Hirschberg. Petitioner alleges that through the wrongful act of the Government in passing section 59 of the Native Land Laws Amendment Aet, 1895, he was prevented from completing his lease of Ngawakaakupe No. 3 Block (Longbush), and has thereby suffered great loss. He prays for inquiry and relief. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition. 24th November, 1927. Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee, to which was referred the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill, has duly considered the same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments as shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. 24th November, 1927.
