No. 204/25. —Petition of Andrew Brown and Another. Praying that the question of compensation for losses incurred through their leaseholds in the Rotoiti Blocks being taken from them by the Crown for scenic purposes may be referred to arbitration. Special Report. I have the honour to report that at a meeting of the Native Affairs Committee held on Tuesday, the 29t.h September, 1925, the following resolution was unanimously carried :— Resolved, " That the Committee desires to place on record its high appreciation of the able and courteous manner in which the Chairman, Mr. K. S. Williams, has conducted the business of the Committee, and that this resolution be recorded in the minutes and reported to the House." J. R. Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting on Tuesday, the 29th September, 1925. During the session the Committee held 19 meetings, the average attendance of members at each meeting being 9. . Including 45 petitions brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it 119 petitions. Of these 77 were considered and reported on ; the remaining 42 are unavoidably held over. The Committee considered and reported on the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill, also Parliamentary Papers G 120, 121, 122, and 1145. The total number of reports presented to the House was 65. 30th September, 1925. [Translation.] Ripoata Whakamutunga.
