No. 228/25. —Petition of Violet Newdick, of Maketu. Petitioner alleges that through the action of a certain Pakelia and the Survey Department she and her family have been prevented from making use of their lands on the Maketu Peninsula. She prays for compensation and relief. I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that if the consolidation of interests in the Maketu lands were expedited the troubles set forth in the petition would be solved, and it therefore recommends the petition be referred to the Government for consideration. 24th September, 1925.
