Appeal No. 37. —8y Mehaka Tokopounamu, claiming the inclusion of thirteen persons, whose names and shares are set out ; n the list attached to the original order, and therein numbered from 184 to 196, both inclusive. This claim was agreed to before this Commission, and we recommend that the said thirteen persons be added to the order with individual shares as shown. Appeal No. 36. —8y Taihakoa Poniwahio and others, claiming that the names of fifty-five persons, Nos. 180 to 234, inclusive, be struck out of the order for this block on the ground that they have no right to the land. This claim has not been opposed by any of the persons objected to by the appellants on the 29th January, 1907, from that date down to the final sitting of this Commission at Te Whaiti on the 28th March, 1907. We are of opinion that this appeal is justified, and we recommend that the names and interests of the fifty-five persons mentioned be struck out of the order. The six persons whose names are hereunder set out are the persons who have been selected from amongst their number by the owners of the land and proposed by them as the members for the Hapu Committee for the Wairiko Block, and agreed to by all the owners present before this Commission sitting at Whakatane on the Bth day of March, 1907: — 1. Kiekie Mikaere. 4. Mika te Tawhao. 2. Haami Taupo. 5. Wharetuna Heremia. 3. Toko te Mataku. 6. Taihakoa Poniwahio. Gilbert Mair. D. F. G. Barclay. Pabatene Ngata. Te Poroporo Block. Appeal No. 38. —By Mehaka Tokopounamu and others. This appeal was withdrawn by Mehaka on the 9th January, 1907, at Whakatane, and there being no objectors, we therefore recommend that this appeal be dismissed and the original award affirmed. The six persons whose names are hereunder set out are the persons who have been selected from amongst their number by the owners of the land and proposed by them as the members for the Hapu Committee for this block, and agreed to by all the owners present before this Commission sitting at Whakatane on the Bth day of March, 1907: — 1. Appeal No. £1. By Tamehana te Puia and others, claiming the inclusion of the names of eight new persons in the order. This appeal was duly inquired into by this Commission, and copious evidence taken. . We are of opinion that the claim has been sustained, and that these persons should be included in the order, with a total interest of 100 shares. ,/„.,. We have added a list of their eight names—numbered respectively from 133 to 140, inclusive to the order, with individual shares as set out therein. We recommend that the order be amended by the addition of the said names and shares, making a total of 1,323 shares in the order. Appeals Nos 39 and 40.—8y Te Whenuanui and Te Rahui Hoera respectively. Application was made under these appeals that the interest of Hera Kereti—No. 53 in the order—be increased from ten shares to twenty shares. . To this there are no objectors, and all the remaining grounds of these appeals have been withdrawn by the appellants. ~ , We recommend that this arrangement be given effect to, and the order amended accordingly.
