Balance-sheet of the New Zealand Post Office Account for the Year ended 31st December, 1899.

31st March, 1900. J. G. Wabd, Postmaster-General. Examined and found correct, subject to the following remarks: The payments charged to the Miscellaneous Expenses Account exceeded by £38,324 16s. 4d. on the 31st October, 1899, and by £53,970 16s. Id. on the 30th November, 1899, the balance in the hands of the PostmasterGeneral of tbe moneys which had at the time been imprested to him for the purpose of making such payments, and out of which alone the payments could lawfully have been made.
