Audit Office Notes (1) This certificate is given subject to the final audit of many vouchers which under the postaudit system provided for by the Public Revenues Act, 1926, cannot be completely audited before the date at which the Public Accounts are required by the Act to be certified. (2) Material and stores furnished to the Dominion by the United States of America under lendlease and by Canada under mutual aid have been incorporated in the accounts at the figure of £26,836,515 19s. 6d. This amount is shown on the receipts side of War Expenses Account as " Reciprocal Aid " and, less proceeds of certain sales of these materials and stores, is included in the expenditure shown in the account against Navy, Army, Air, and Ancillary subdivisions. In this connection it is desirable to remark that (a) no relative payments have been made to or cash received from the United States or Canadian Governments, (b) values have been based partly on estimate.
