ORDER OF REFERENCE. Extract from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 12th Day of July, 1934. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters relating to public health, infectious diseases, contagious diseases, hospitals, and to local authorities having charge of these matters, and to other matters affecting public health which may be referred to it : the Committee to consist of Mr. Clinkard, Mr. Healy, Mr. Kyle, Mr. Munro, Mr. Parry, Mr. Richards, Mr. Stalhyorthy, Mr Stuart, Mr. Sykes, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Young.)

REPORTS.
No. 95. —Petition of Sybil K. Lennox, of Auckland. Praying for compensation on account of alleged unskilful treatment received while an inmate of the Auckland Hospital. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 18th September, 1934.
No. 103,—Petition of W. Beaumont, of Christchurch. Praying for compensation for business losses allegedly caused by the Health Department. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for most favourable consideration. 18th September, 1934. G- R- Sykes, Chairman.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Public Health Committee passed the following resolution : " That this Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the courteous manner displayed by the Chairman, Mr. G. R. Sykes, in the discharge of his duties during the session, and directs that this resolution be reported to the House." 2nd April, 1935. J- W. Munro, Member of the Committee.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that at its final meeting the Public Health Committee passed the following resolution : " That this Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the efficient manner in which the Clerk, Mr. E. A. Dobbie, has carried out his duties during the session, and directs that this resolution be reported to the House." 2nd April, 1935.
Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee, consisting of ten members, has during the session held four meetings, with an average attendance at each meeting of six members. Two petitions were considered and reported upon. . 2nd April, 1935. G - Sykes, Chairman.
