ORDERS OF REFERENCE.
Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Wednesday, the 12th Day of October, 1932. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to consider all matters relating to public health, infectious diseases, contagious diseases, hospitals, and to local authorities having charge of these matters, and to other matters affecting public health which may be referred to it: the Committee to consist of Mr. Clinkard, Mr. Healy, Mr. Kyle, Mr. Munro, Mr. Parry, Mr. Richards, Mr. Sykes, Mr. Stallworthy, Mr. Stuart, and the mover." —(Hon. Mr. Youno.) Thursday, the 13th Day of October, 1932. Ordered, " That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1931 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session, and that all petitions received during the first session of 1932 be dealt with as if they had been received this session."—(Eight Hon. No. 15, Sess. 2, 1932. —Petition of T. W. Parsons, of Fiji. Praying for compassionate allowance on account of alleged unskilful treatment received while an inmate of the Auckland Hospital. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 17th November, 1932.
No. 64, Sess. 2, 1932. —Petition of P. McWilliam, of Wellington South. Pray'lNG for amendment of the Dentist's Amendment Act, 1926, to enable him to practice prosthetic dentistry. I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 17th November, 1932.
No. 109, Sess. 2, 1932.—Petition of Alexander Tod Murray, of Carterton. Praying to be allowed to practice prosthetic dentistry under supervision. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 30th November, 1932.
No. 122, Sess. 2, 1932-33,—Petition of E. R. Jessen, of Dargaville. Praying for registration as a dentist or, alternatively, that he be allowed to practice under supervision. I have the honour to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make. 6t.h March, 1933.
No. 202, Sess. 2, 1932-33.—Petition of W. T. H. Beaumont, of Christchurch. Praying for compensation for business losses allegedly caused by the Health Department. I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee the petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration.. 6th March, 1933.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the efficient services rendered by the Clerk of the Committee, Mr. E. A. Dobbie, and, further, desires that this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the Committee, and be reported to the House. 6th March, 1933.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Committee desires to record its appreciation of the ability and courtesy displayed by the Chairman, Mr. G. R. Sykes, in the discharge of his duties during the session ; and, further, desires that this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the Committee, and be reported to the House. J. W. Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Public Health Committee, consisting of ten members, has during the session held five meetings, with an average attendance at each meeting of seven members. Five petitions were considered and reported upon. 6th March, 1933. G. R. Sykes, Chairman.
