EDUCATION (AMOUNT SPENT ON) IN EACH FINANCIAL YEAR FROM 1899-1900 TO 1908-9.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 18th November, 1909. Ordered, " Tnat there be laid before this House a return showing the amount spent in each financial year from The Consolidated Fund for the ten years ending 31st March, 1909, on education under the following heads : (1) Head Office; (2) elementary education; (3) secondary and higher education; (4) manual and technical instruction(s) training-colleges and training of teachers; (6) public-school cadets ; (7) Native schools; (8) industrial schools;' (9) miscellaneous services ; (10) school buildings, furniture, &c." —(Mr. Russell.)
