1909. NEW ZEALAND.

POLICE PROVIDENT FUND: REPORT OF BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION FOR YEAR ENDED 31st MARCH, 1909.

Laid before Parliament in pursuance of Section 38, Subsection (c), of " The Police Force Act, 1908."

The Board have to report that during the year ended 31st March last one inspector, two detectives, two sergeants, and seven constables were retired with annual allowances under the Act and placed on the Fund. The particulars are as follows :—

There were on the 31st March last four ex-inspectors, twenty-three ex-sergeants, forty-six ex-constables, four ex-detectives, and two widows on the Fund, their aggregate annual allowance being £7,529 15s. 7d. The following Pensioners died during the year : —

The balance-sheet and statement of receipts and disbursements, as required by section 38 of the Act, are hereto annexed, from which it will be seen that on the 31st March there was a balance to the credit of the Fund of £31,813 7s. 10d., being an increase of £1,276 2s. 3d. on the amount at the corresponding date of the preceding year. 26th April, 1909.
