1905. NEW ZEALAND.
MATAURA ELECTORATE (ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR RAILED INTO THE) DURING YEARS ENDING 30th JUNE, 1903, 1904 AND 1905.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 2nd November, 1904. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing—(l) The quantities of alcoholio liquor railed to places within the Mataura electorate during the twelve months ending the 30th June, 1903 ; (2) the like quantities during the twelve months ending the 30th June, 1904 ; and (3) the total quantities for the electorate, in gallons."—(Mr. McNab.) Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 11th July, 1905. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return, in continuation of the return laid on the table of the House on the 4th July, 1905, showing the like quantities of liquor railed to places within the Mataura eleotorate for the year ending the 30th June, 1905."—(Mr. McNab.)
Return of Alcoholic Liquor railed to Stations in the Mataura Electorate for the Twelve Months ending 30th June, 1903 and 1904, respectively.
Note. —Owing to the destruction of records n the fire at Gore Station, only three months' (i.e., the ast three months of the period covered by the return) parcels booked to that station are included. The figures given represent only the quantity of alcoholic liquor so described by the senders. As the Railway Department does not know the contents of all packages, the quantity of alcoholic liquor contained in packages the contents of which were not specifically described cannot be stated. H.
