SUPREME COURT JUDGES (TRAVELLING-ALLOWANCES AND EXPENSES OF, AND EMOLUMENTS RECEIVED BY) BEYOND THEIR SALARIES.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 24th September, 1903. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing (1) the amount allowed to puisne Judges per day as travelling-allowance ; (2) the amount allowed per day as travelling-expenses; (3) the total amount paid to each Judge under the above headings for the years ending the 31st March, 1900, 1901, and 1902; and (4) what emoluments, if any, beyond the above and their salaries are received or paid to Judges."—(Mr. Millar.)

The amount allowed to Judges per day as travelling-allowance : On land, £2 2s. ; at sea, ss.

2. The amount allowed per day as travelling-expenses : There is no daily allowance for travellingexpenses; the amounts actually incurred for steamer and railway fares, &c, are defrayed by the Government. 3.
