1903. NEW ZEALAND.
CORONERS' INQUESTS AND POST-MORTEM EXAMINATIONS (PARTICULARS RELATIVE TO) IN THE FOUR PRINCIPAL CITIES.
Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 24th July, 1903. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing (1) the number of inquests held in the four large centres of the colony—namely, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin—for the period from the Ist April, 1901, to the 31st March, 1903, and the total number in eaoh oity respectively ; (2) the number of postmortem examinations held by doctors at such inquests, and the cost of such examinations ; and (3) the total cost in each oity of holding suoh inquests for the period above named." —(Mr. Bollard.)
