Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated the 4th November, 1897. Ordered, " That there be laid before this House a return showing,—(l) The amount paid to each newspaper in the colony for Government advertisements during the year ended the 31st March, 1897 ; (2) the amount similarly paid for Government printing ; and (3) the amount expended (a) in the colony and (6) outside the colony in advertising New Zealand scenery."—(Mr. Buchanan.)
