PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE. (REPORT ON THE REPORT OF THE PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE COMMISSION.)

Brought up 21st July, 1891, and ordered to be printed.

The Public Accounts Committee, to whom was referred the report of the Commissioners appointed to inquire into the business of the Public Trust Office, beg to report that the Committee has agreed to the following resolutions : — 1. That it would be to the advantage of the public service that the office of Public Trustee be filled by some other person than Mr. Hamerton. 2. That, failing Mr. Hamerton's resignation, the Government be requested to take proceedings to remove him from his office under the Public Trust Act. 3. That this Committee recommend that a superannuation - allowance be made to Mr. Hamerton from the Ist August, 1891, of the same amount as if he had retired from the public service in June, 1880, upon certificate under "The Civil Service Superannuation Act, 1858," section 1.
