Eetuen of Plants (chiefly distributed by the Education Department) at the under-mentioned Native Schools throughout the Colony, which were Alive and in Good Condition on 30th September, 1886. Maketu: 6 mulberry, 4 olive, 50 arrowroot, 9 white-ash, 4 oriental plane, 1 acer negunda. Matata: 36 arrowroot, 9 white-ash, 3 furcrcea, 4 ramia, 1 acer necunda. Whakatane: 6 mulberry. Waioeka : 11 olive, 12 white-ash, 3 passion-fruit, a quantity of wattle, 7 various. Omarumutu : 8 olive, 20 arrowroot, 12 white-ash, 7 furcrcea, 4 ramia, 3 passion-fruit, 1 acer negunda, 50 wattle, 100 acacia (kangaroo).

Omaio : 4 mulberry, 3 white-ash, 1 furcroea, 1 ramia, 2 oriental plane, 1 acer negunda, 40 blue-gum. Torere : 11 mulberry, 7 wattle. Te Kaha : 2 olive, 24 arrowroot, 3 carob, 4 white-ash, 6 wattle, 10 pinus maritima. Waiomatatini: 4 mulberry. Uawa: 2 elm, and a number of prickly acacia. Te Ore Ore : No plants of any sort. Wattles planted by Natives doing well. D'Urville Island : 1 passion-fruit, 1 wattle. Waikawa : No plants received except wattles, which have not done well. Wairau : 2 mulberry, 69 fruit (various). Mangamaunu : 1 mulberry, 4 peach, 2 apple, 2 cherry. Eapaki: 20 wattle. Onuku : 4 oak and 10 hazel. Waikouaiti: 34 various. Port Molyneux : 6 wattle. The Neck : 19 various.
