The cost of rebuilding them, based on engineer's estimate, and the cast of recent works carried out by the Board, exclusive of breakwater contract, would be approximately £55,000.

The only land which the Board have capable of being leased is land reclaimed by them from the harbour between the Gladstone Pier and the Screw Pile Jetty, and between the Graving Dock and Peacock's Wharf. Granted under " The Thames Harbour Board Act, 1876." Value unknown. Site on which lighthouse is erected. The foreshore from Patiti Point to stream from Waimataitai Lagoon. Value nominal. Voted by Provincial Government out of sales of land, but paid over by General Government. Beceived from Timaru and Gladstone Boara of Works.
