1881. NEW ZEALAND.
CHANGE OF PURPOSE OF RESERVES (PAPERS RELATIVE TO).
Presented to both Souses of the General Assembly in pursuance of " The Public Beserves Act Amendment Act, 1878."
[Vide Gazettes Nos. 102, 103, 106, 109, 1880.] James Pbetstdebgast, Administrator of the Government. Wh.beas by "The Public Eeserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Part 11. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section one hundred and forty-lour of "The Land Act, 1877," if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Part 11., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made : Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Administrator of the Government thereof, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by "The Public Eeserves Act Amendment Act, 1878," aforesaid, change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the said Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule, and such land shall henceforth be deemed to be reserved and set apart for such last-mentioned specific purpose, and no other.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, this twenty-eighth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty. Wm. Eolleston, Minister of Lands.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor intends, under the provisions of section 148 of " The Land Act, 1877," to change the specific purpose of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto for which the land was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as specified in the first -column of the said Schedule, to the specific purposes specified in the third column of the said Schedule. Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose. All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 1 rood 37 perches, more or less, on the plan of the Waverley Town Belt, Okotuku District. Bounded towards the North by Subdivision No. 1 of the Waverley Town Belt, 897 links ; towards the East by Eural Section No. 88, Block VII., Wairoa Survey District, 500 links; towards the South by a Government reserve, 897 links; and towards the West by a public street, 500 links. Eeserve not defined. Site for a school.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor intends, under the provisions of section 8 of " The Public Eeserves Act, 1878," to change the specific purpose of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto for which the land was heretofore set apart as a reserve, as specified in the first column of the said Schedule, to the specific purposes specified in the third column of the said Schedule.
Description and Purpose of Reserve. Area of which the Purpose is intended to be Changed. Intended Purpose. Section No. 210, Suburbs of Gisiorne, Provincial District of Auckland, teserved as a burial-ground. (See \ew Zealand Gazette No. 1, of the ith January, 1872, page 8.) All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, being Lot 210, Suburbs of Gisborne, containing 8 acres and 16 perches. Bounded towards the North by Childers Eoad, 600 links ; towards the East by Allotment No. 211,1221 links; towards the South by a line, 625 links; and towards the West by Allotments Nos. 209 and 212, 1433 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the official maps in the Survey Office, Auckland. For a sheep and cattle quarantineground.
Description and Purpose of Reserve. Area of which the Purpose is intended to be Changed. Intended Purpose. Southern half of Section No. 19, .ontaining 5 acres and 4 perches, in :he Town of Hawera, Provincial Dis;rict of Taranaki. For a site for ;elegraph station or other purposes of ;he General Government. (See New Zealand Gazette No. 24, of the 26th April, 1871, page 182.) All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Taranaki, situate in the Town of Hawera, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 28 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the North-east by High Street; towards the South-east bv Sections Nos. 25, 27, 28, 29, and 30 of Block XIX. ; towards the South-west by a right line from the south-western corner of said Section No. 30 to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 18 of said Block XIX. ; and towards the North-west by said Section No. 18, and Sections Nos. 17, 16, and 7, of said Block XIX.: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, New Plymouth. For a public road.

All that area in the Provincial District of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 11 perches, more or less, being Section No. 204, in the Kakaramea Township, and bounded as follows: Towards the North-east by Ford Street, 285 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 205, 172 links; towards the South-west by South Eoad, 243 links; and towards the North-west by an education reserve, 78 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, New Plymouth. For a site for s public library and in stitute.
Area of which the Purpose is intended to be Changed. Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose. All that piece of land in the Town )f Oamaru, Provincial District of Dtago, bounded towards the Northvest by Severn Street, 1400 links; ;owards the East by Thames Street, L403 links; and towards the Southvest by a reserve for a public esplatade, 1078 links. As sites for public mildings and other purposes of the 3eneral Government. All that piece of land in the Town of Oamaru, Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 rood. Bounded towards the Northwest by Severn Street, 3162 links; towards the East by Thames Street, 224 links ; and towards the South by a line, 222 links. County buildings.
