1878. NEW ZEALAND. LAND REVENUE (RETURN OF). Laid on the Table by the Hon. Mr. Ballance, with the leave of the House.

LAND REVENUE RECEIPTS. During the Six Months ended 30th June, 1878.

This return shows only the amount brought to account by the Treasury within the period referred to; and it is exclusive of arrears of receipts in respect of the period ended 31st December, 1877, and of the revenues derived from lands specially set apart as endowments. During the period covered by the return, the land revenue was classified under the heads of counties, as required by " The Financial Arrangements Act, 1877," and not under those of the provincial districts; and, as some counties extend into two or more provincial districts, the classification herein made as regards such districts must be held to be approximate.
