NEGOTIATION OF THE LOAN (FURTHER CORRESPONDENCE RELATIVE TO THE).
Presented to both Houses of the General Assembly by Command of His Excellency.
No. 1. Sir Peneose G-. Jxjltan and Mr. SA.RGEA.rifT to the Colonial Seceetabt. [Received October 3rd] London, September 25th. Please alter lines seven and eight of our letter, 21st September,* seventy make [? five], as follows : — For the words, " capacity as Crown Agents for the Colonies," substitute the words, " individual capacity." The contract [? context] clearly shows the former was clerical error. JULYAN, SaBGEAUNT. Colonial Secretary, "Wellington.
* See 8.—3, No. 10, p. 7. The first paragraph of the letter, corrected as requested, will read thus : —" Our labours as Loam Agents under ' The Immigration and Public Works Loan Act, 1871,' have, as you will learn by another letter forwarded to you by the present mail, been brought to a natural close ; and we now beg to address you, in our individual capacity, with regard to any future operations of similar character, whiek your Government may possibly require carried out in London."
